DO DEFIANT RESIDENTS DESERVE SUCH INHUMANE TREATMENT?

Angry palace executioners and some police officers at the Sunyani traditional area in the Bono Region have been caught in a video assaulting some residents for defying funeral orders in the area.The residents following the death of their late queen mother, Nana Yaa Nyamah were expected to comply with some rules that were announced prior to the burial of their queen.They were expected to be clad in mourning attires with no one wearing jewellery.Some businesses, as well as churches, were to halt operations from Monday, February 24 to Saturday, February 29, 2020, when the final rites will be held.However, in a video intercepted by Myjoyonline.com, Read more...

MY THOUGHTS

After, reading and watching videos of the happenings at suyani, the capital of Bono region, i feel disgusted that we could treat our fellow humans with disdane simply because they disobeyed traditional instructions. not to say the traditional rulers do not have authority but i believe there are rule of laws in this country and every citizen is enshrineed to abide by it. why not arrest and fine them instead of being beaten up. 

This is not right and that is certainly not how we would want other foreigners in the region embrace and respect our culture.

Just like every fabric, that has various ways of mentaining it's quality after purchase, kente cloth is no exception and  needs to be treated with respect. below are a few ways to keep this cultural cloth lasting longer. WASHING The cloth is made from threads and as such, washing it constantly will make the thread loosen up. the best way to wash your kente after wearing is to dry clean it. My Expiry Date I dreaded.
